The Captains Council, as a non-profit, educational and research organization in aviation, is alarmed by the continuous deterioration of aviation safety in the Dominican Republic. In less than 6 months, we have observed two major aircraft accidents and several incidents from Dominican air operators. This worrisome, high-tempo statistic is an indication of an aviation system in need of a deep-down review and modernization. At the same time, the country is embarking on the certification of over 12 new airlines.
The Council maintains its offer to provide free and voluntary advising to the Dominican aviation industry. Our mission is to serve as a bridge between the United States and the Dominican Republic for the advancement of civil aviation.
