Capt.  Ruiz is a results-oriented aviation safety professional and experienced pilot with a strong background in risk mitigation and operational safety. He currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Safety at the 514th Air Mobility Wing, where he develops and implements safety programs, conducts risk assessments, and ensures compliance with aviation regulations. 

As a KC-46 Pegasus and KC-10 Extender pilot with the 76th Air Refueling Squadron, Peter has extensive experience in air refueling and airlift missions, supporting allied and multiservice agencies in worldwide operations. Additionally, he is a Boeing 757/767 pilot for United Airlines, ensuring the safety and efficiency of commercial flights. His previous experience includes flying the Embraer 170/175 for Republic Airways. 

Beyond aviation, Peter has a technical background as a former Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin, where he contributed to DevOps, integration, and testing for U.S. Department of Defense projects. His early career also includes serving in the Illinois Air National Guard as an Aircraft Electrical and Environmental Systems Specialist on the C-130 Hercules. 

Peter holds a Master of Science in Aeronautics – Aviation Safety from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science from Thomas Edison State University. His expertise in safety, flight operations, and military aviation makes him a valuable asset in both civilian and military aviation sectors.
